In 2017 I created Buffoonery with the idea that many things in this world are nonsensical. Creating a physicality to this was something I felt strongly about because so often we ignore the crazy things that go on in this world.

By doing this, not only was I able to express a lot of what I was feeling during this time, but I also had the opportunity to work with other artists my age.

Design and Product

Takeaways

While I had the opportunity to work with others and learn about myself, I also learned about screen printing as well. For some time, I went to a local screen print company in Denver, but I found it intimidating to share my designs and vision with someone twice my age. YouTube helped me figure out how to build my own press and develop my own screens. Which is a process I still use today for personal projects.

I also learned what it meant to run a small business. For the first time, I really understood the importance of keeping an inventory, what managing a website looked like, how to efficiently ship within the US, and the power of social media within an economy. While it sometimes felt like a lot, I'm grateful for this knowledge.
